Internet Safety – children

SAFER INTERNET DAY

On Tuesday, Torridon Primary School celebrated Safer Internet Day with a fantastic internet safety fair, led by our dedicated team of Digital Leaders. The event was a wonderful opportunity for both pupils and parents to engage in important discussions about staying safe online.

The day started with engaging assemblies led by our Digital Leaders, where they shared essential advice on online safety with the whole school. Pupils then took part in live lessons streamed by the BBC, deepening their understanding of key topics such as recognising scams, identifying fake information, and practising responsible digital habits. Throughout the day, children completed a variety of interactive activities, reinforcing the importance of staying safe while using the internet.

To conclude the event, parents were invited to attend the Safer Internet Day Fair in the school hall. Our Digital Leaders took centre stage, confidently presenting their knowledge on various aspects of e-safety, including privacy settings, cyberbullying, and how to spot unreliable online sources. For those parents who were unable to join us in person, an online workshop was available, ensuring that all families had access to valuable guidance on keeping their households safe online.

A huge thank you to everyone who attended, both in person and online. Your support and engagement are crucial in fostering a safe digital environment for our children.
